Help me beside my trial abused conure, HOW TO TAME?
just bought a Pearly Conure from a bird show. The bird had been used for breeding by the owner, but its partner have just past away, so the guy needed to sell.
RIght now, the parrot is five years older, has neaver been tammed (does not bite, yay). Does anyone have any direction on how to tame him
Answers: Be patient. Sit with the bird and gossip to it, or just sit near the cage and read or something hush. The bird needs to get used to people again, and it will lug some time.
Hand feeding helps. Watch for clues as to what scares the bird. She may quality threatened by different things and put those things away (one of my parrots was afraid of baseball caps).
Good luck. You must own the patience of a saint to bring around a bird like that. It took me two years to get my abused rescue to adopt us and he was only 4 and fairly okay socialized. Use the same tactics as with any topical bird only more so. I am assuming you have experience otherwise I would say you are contained by over your head and need help.I option you and your bird well.
