My chicken have be sitting on eggs for something like 2 weeks very soon How can i share whether here going to hatch or not?
They are fertile but this is her first time?
thanks
was this chicken around a rooster, if not next take eggs away and toss them because you need a rooster to fertilize her eggs. remove eggs every time and use them.
If she'll agree to you pick one up, try taking it into a dark room and showing a strong torch through. Then you'll see if it's empty or not. If something is growing surrounded by there it'd be a big black mass.
Answers: If she stays with it another week, you'll have it.
You can candle them presently and you will see a dark spot/mass in the fertilized egg. A few minutes away from mom will be no problem, simply don't mess around forever.
Take a cardboard box and cut a quarter size hole in it(1 in/25mm), then put a bright lantern under neath you can set the eggs on there and look for the embryos.
For point of comparison, try an egg from the store. You will see how the light shines right through, versus one of your fertilized eggs.
Remove any that don't enjoy a pretty good size mass in them by now.
Good luck
You`ll know in about another week.
Do you know how to candle an egg?
