QUESTION ABOUT MY PERSIAN CAT?
I bought a 7 year old persian cat yesterday and he just wont eat. He's be hiding under the bed and meowing and he wont get out. I've tried putting the food next to him but he wont even touch it. He's used the litter box but thats around it...Help me plzzz! Is he just not yet used to my house? does he need time to adjust?
Give him a day, he may just be nervous. Leave him alone until he feel like approaching you. Changing owners is tough on a cat, especially one that old. I would be in motion ahead and leave food and water next to the bed since that's where on earth he feels safe.
If he still hasn't eaten by tomorrow, phone the vet.
If you just get him in the past few days - yes he needs time to adjust. When we first get Charlie as a 4 month old (been a long time since having a new cat) I be worried he wouldn't eat when we got home after a 6 hr drive. But he be eating fine in a day or two. He simply wanted to check everything out and wasn't used to anything at first.
If your cat is not eating in the subsequent day or two, you might want to call the vet. Adult cats can go in the order of 2 days without eating and not be hurt by it. Be sure he is drinking hose tho.
Give him some time and make sure that you are giving him the food he's used to. He is a moment ago adjusting to his new home, so don't bother him.
Give the poor cat time. He is anxious out of his mind. Maybe you should confine him to a smaller room, like a bathroom, where he have less to hide under. Keep him surrounded by there for a few days, give him his food, play with him and show him some love. Eventually he will soothing down. Keep him away from other pets for the first week. And don't overwhelm him with other people.
If you are a current Persian owner, make sure you are feeding him special food. Their jaws are exceptionally different and they have a hard time eating. Please contribute him some wet food. I know it smells gross, but its best for the cat. Also try to make sure that anything related to corn is not within the first 4 ingredients.
Are you feeding them the food he was eating in the past you got him? If not, find out what he was eating and attain him some. Sometimes cats are finicky about what they eat. A new house beside new sounds and smells may be overwhelming to him. Try keeping him in a smaller area for a few days and at a snail`s pace let him explore bigger areas till he's comfortable. In time he should come around but right now, he's terrified and insecure.
the cat is in a new place and afraid. can you understand that? disappear the cat alone. He will come out when he is ready.
i think he doesnt like you
Drag him out and afford him some cuddles. He'll come round eventually.
Answers: He isn't used to your house. Leave him be, the more you hassle him the more reserved he will be. He'll come out when he is organized and used to his new surroundings.
I had this for 2-3 days near my new kitten, after that she was totally fine. She used to lay under my bed and not come out, when she did come out whether we went near her - she'd run back underneath. We noticed she was starting to get 'braver' she'd come and sniff us, and wonder around - after she started sitting on our laps.
Give him time. How would you feel about human being put in a new home, beside people you don't know? Think about that.
