Can womanly dogs be k-9 cops.?
Whenever i watch the k-9 cop show on animal planet i never see female dog cops, i only see manly dog cops. I was just curious.
Of course they can. In reality I saw a story on one that won some award for her bravery.
Of course they can. The only problem with this is most males are more dominant and are easier to train in protection work. Learn roughly speaking schutzhund because this is where government agencies get their dogs.
I hold been a schutzhund breeder for several years and have sold and trained many police K-9s and schutzhund trained dogs. .
Sure they can, why wouldn't they be able to ?
Of course they can. They can be anything you want them to be with the correct training. I saw a Whippet today who be a hearing dog for the deaf, this is strange because they are very skittish, but she was angelic at her job.
logically they can. my aunts dog is a search and rescue dog and she is awesome! when i was on break i went up to stop by her. it was soo funny because my sister and i hid in the woods and my aunt made the dog find us. we be pretty far out in the woods and that dog found us in like 2 minutes. and no we picked really honourable hiding spots. but yeah female dogs are just as good as manly dogs.
Yes, but they're much needier and emotionally unstable than their manly counterparts.
Yes they can. Same as they can be guide dogs.
Sure, but probably they are not into aggressive work - they may be used more on drug searching and things like that.
Yes of course they can be.
Yes, in fact female dogs can take home better K9 or service dogs than male dogs.
they can be but they don't use them that much because for some reason they say feminine dogs sight and smelling ability's are not as good a male dogs
Of course they can! I just saw one tonight.her name be Sully i believe.
yes they can.and i saw that show and i saw a female dog as a K-9 cop.
Yup. Really? I saw one on tonight
Answers: Yes they certainly can. More commonly the males are chosen because they are more territorial and have a greater fight drive, but the females can and do work just as all right.
(In fact, although I don't work much with her, my Rottie-mix is a spayed female and she is K9 trained. When I hold had need to put her to work, she does a great job and requirements nothing more than to do her job to please me as her handler.I can't believe the people that trained her moved out her at the pound!)
