My dog is bedwetting what dose it close-fisted ?
hello my dog (a German Shepherd) is wetting her self in her sleep. I have observed he as she for nearly 24 hours one day and noticed that in the daytime she has no problem going in the morning but i stopped observing her for a moment as she went into a deep sleep and when i looked back she have already wet her self. due to this i think it only occur at those points of time. so i need to know is this any significant problem or should i take her to the vet sooner after latter. thank you for reading please help.
Sounds like she is loosing control of her bladder. If that is what it is, it will only grasp worse.
Call & talk to your Vet.
Weird my Lab Rafiki did the same thing. He started when he be about 5 it lasted a few months then he stopped.
The vet told us it be stress and night mares??
Oh and he was a hunting dog and it started when my dad retired him. But i would go to the vet it can be more serious.
Answers: Could be something serious, could be something easy to correct close to a urinary tract infection. There are many causes of incontinence. All of them do need a vet to diagnose and treat them, so procure her in for an appointment ASAP.
The others are right, capture her to a vet asap. This is unlikely to be a behavioural problem as she is asleep when it happens, so is very likely to be a problem beside her urinary tract. Good luck! :)
Vet sooner than later. It could be a sign of a bladder problem or an infection.
My old dog's incontinence was cause by diabetes. It could be a urinary tract infection as well. Is she spayed? Sometimes spayed dogs experience a breakdown of the sphincter muscles.
ably it prob has to do with the age..if your dog is really feeble it could be that during sleep it doesnt kno to wake up n let you kno it has to jump rather thatn during the day when its awak it can tell right absent it has to go.might be time to put ol faithful down :(
