My Pekingese's muzzle is impressively dry?
She is 9 years old. She has recently developed a really dry trunk and it even seems sort of cracked. She is still her normal self, very delighted and obedient, so i am thinking she is not sick. Why is her nose dry? Is it bad, should I lug her to the vet?
Maybe the heat is drying it out? i know my skin get dry in the winter time due the the furnace, perhaps same thing for her.
I personally have no notion, but I've noticed my dog does that too sometimes, and gets over it fast. It could also be of the really wacked winter getting cold and hot quickly, drying and wetting her nose quickly. If it last for a few days take her to the vet just in luggage.
Answers: A dry nose does not mean a sick dog, that's an old wives anecdote. It sounds like she just has an strangely dry nose. Take her to the vet and have the vet take a look. He will probably offer you some special cream to put on her nose to moisturize it.
