What filter medium should i use?

I recently bought a fluval 305 and its being shipped in my house. Now im preparing to stop my filter. What filter medium should i use in my fluval 305 and in what order should i place it? This is for a 55 gallon aquarium beside discus and cardinals.

Answers:    i dont think it matters really what order you put it within, aslong as its there... I ussually put in filter wool at the top so its easy to replace as this is the merely thing i change weekly.

If i were you though i'd walk to the local pet shop where they should sell huge pads of filter medium, just cut this up and pop it in the filter to shape.

By the way attain some today, and put it in your fish tank so it can collect bacteria, or try running both filters at the same time for a while.
