lb5000 fine whether horse travels beside out passport?
in uk horses travelling with out a passport may get a fine up to lb5000. im certain police have no idea what a horses passport look like though. i dont believe this have been publicised enough. i believe this is stupid near no point just a way to get more money out of us.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT IT?
it's been on accounts as long i know but it never passed ok
they do one and the same thing in the U. S. if you are caught crossing state borders near no papers for your horse,(proving it is the right horse) they can detain the animal and charge you a huge fine. its for disease control, for stopping things like coggins. you gotta have a clear vet check for the current year. no big deal a short time ago carry the papers with you when you travel. the UK's policy sounds dumb to me, cant they just use the vet papers here too?
Answers: Although I enjoy a passport for my horse, I am against the way it has been implement. For one thing there is no definite means of access of distinguishing one horse from another. I mean if you have a grazing land of say, Dales ponies, all black, all near a star, how can anyone who doesn't know them properly be able to truly identify them. If the passports had come with the proviso that the horse have to be micro-chipped and/or freeze branded then the whole scheme would enjoy been more plausible. As is, it's just a money making racket for vet etc and I'm not altogether sure how enforceable it is. But as it is law we have to comply.
I have no idea a horse needed a passport. How the hell do you get a horse in a photo booth?
(for the passport photo)
All horses should now have a passport. The fine is there as a deterrent, and whether the idea of paying that much money is horrific to you, then it's obviously working!
dumb not the question the horse passport thing
No, I didn't. So whether you go on a hack in Scotland you need a 'horse passport'? Where do you even take one of those? That's dumb.
