I enjoy a turtle how can you inform its femininity?

its the little kind u can get for $8-$10 that dnt grow...thanx!
It's more than promising that you are talking about a red-eared slider. You can tell the sex when he become sexually mature, but he won't because someone told you they stay small and don't need care so you are going to slaughter him. Sorry, but it's the truth.

They need a minimum of a 40 gallon breeder tank, heavy filtration, fixed water changes, a good temp rise, and full spectrum uvb lighting.

They are one of the most high-maintenance reptiles commonly available on the pet trade and the majority of them die miserable deaths.

They don't grow because people snuff out them when they are just little babies. They're supposed to live several decades and grow to around 1 foot long.

If you don't believe it is a slider, check if it's sort of greenish or grayish with a ashen or gold belly and red markings on the side of the head. Color vary in subspecies and from individual to individual, but they're the same animal.

If it didn't grow, it wouldn't be big enough to lay eggs and spawn more turtles.
First of adjectives that little kind you have that you got for 8-10 bucks will grow. If its the adjectives kind they sell everywhere it is a Red Ear Slider and they can get really big. I'm conversation the size of a football with the right care. You can tell the masculinity probably when its a little bigger but its easy. Look at the under side of your turtles shell whether it is concaved in like a bowl then its a mannish because he'll have to get on top of another turtles shell to mate so the females top shell will fit clearly in the bowl shape. Female turtles are the opposite their shells stick out a little bit to formulate room for eggs. I don't know why you think your turtle won't grow. Have you ever heard of something that is born and doesn't grow? Everything starts out small and grows into something. Be prepared. Good luck!
Males have longer claws in the front rather than i the pay for.
well measure how big it is, and find out how big the average male is, and later how big the female is, because with turtles, the girls are always alot bigger afterwards the boys, kinda like with spiders. you just own to know what your comparing it to.
Answers:    Aquatic turtles...Total Body length: 5-8" average for males, up to 12 inches max for females. Life span: 15-25+ years
Males have the longer front nail and are used in mating. And are considered mature at almost 5 yrs old. You can’t start sexing till about 3” across.

$17.99 Sliders, cooters , painted, map, yellow bellied adjectives are basically the same and require the same undeveloped care

Remember 10 gallons for every inch of turtle. I have used kiddy pools and plastic pond liners from most nurseries and immediately a 150 gal pond.
They are the coolest. Not cuddly pets at all. And a life time commitment.
.
For their needed protein and calcium drop 20 or so feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows in the container and watch them disappear in a few days! When I got these two 36 yrs ago adjectives we had in back after were goldfish to feed , so after 36 yrs and still going strong. They can eat goldfish!
This course when they swim for their dinner they get exercise also! TOSS in a bird cuttle bone in the sea for calcium that will promote better shell growth, it will dissolve real slow and if they eat it that’s fine!!
They can enjoy garden worms, meal worms, snails, crickets, flies, crayfish small frogs, slugs, tadpoles dragon flies and anything that moves, but only as a treat.
They need leafy greens Romaine, Butter lettuce. (Iceberg and cabbage are desperate for them, any other leafy greens will do) for vitamin A that they need at least 3 to 4 times a week.
They love grapes and strawberries and squash..**Swollen cloudy eyes which means underprovided in Vitamin A. Which we all need for worthy eyes. Google ‘vegetables with Vitamin A.
Did you know that they need to bask under a reptile night light UVA/UVB for up to 8 hrs a day for the vitamin D that they need to grow. So that means getting a turtle dock also.
Leave the furnace on 75 to 78 degrees always.
These turtles in captivity do not hibernate their drinking may slow down some but they will not hibernate.
These are not cuddly pets and will bite very very hard.
Under 4" they transport a disease called 'salmonella'. So you must wash after every handling. These guys can become cannibalistic and will kill the smallest turtle whether there is not enough room and food.
And my pictures don't lie. All ages and adjectives sizes get along as long as their is allot for swim room and plenty to eat!
Their water requirements to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty marine cause they poop allot. You need a good filter system!

Gravel larger than they can swallow.
They sleep at the bottom of rivers, streams. lake or ponds or your tank to avoid predators like coyotes, foxes, owls, hawks, possums, raccoons and even some wide mouth bass and us humans.
You probably already know that they procure sick easily, shell rot, respiratory sickness, lopsided swimming, coughing, blowing bubbles from their nose. Fungus white cotton patches on their skin?

These two females of mine are which I have carted around for 36 long yrs plus 3 adoptees contained by the last 6 yrs. Which my kids aren’t even that old. And having 5 for the ultimate 6 yrs I spend over 300.00 a month which includes over 400 goldfish and minnows per month. Leafy greens and fruits 4 times a week and plus electricity plus I also feed dried cubed blood worms or tubiflex worms at least 5 times a week. For one turtle its still going to cost ya. The setup alone tank, Big cistern, heater, GOOD filter, UVA/UVB rep light, basking dock. Feeders, greens, fruits, dried turtle food. and electricity? YIKES
Look for its dick
