My red eared slider turtle reservoir hose down be fine (clear) and adjectives of a sudden it turned totally cloudy.?
whats wrong? the last time I cleaned the tank was 3 days ago.
and i enjoy two turtles about 1 1/2 years old
it's a 30 gallon tank.
whats wrong?????!
I noticed that my cistern for my yellow bellied slider (same as a red ear pretty much just different colors) gets really dirty like lightning when I put her a few "treat" gold fish or guppies in her tank. The fish are a most important source of yuck in the tank. I clean out her filter at lowest once a week. Turtles are messy eaters. Especially if they are eating food they have to shred. The antediluvian food can fall to the bottom but its still there. Get an algae eater if its remains a problem. For some plea my turtle will not eat an algae eater but any other living creature in the tank is free team game! Hope this helps.
Red eared sliders, well all turtles, shed as they get bigger. Did you drop any food contained by the tank? if the food Just sits it gets soggy and breaks apart. And for the most adjectives, when turtles use the bathroom as they swim, so all that builds up.
These three altogether can make the water cloudy. but the funny piece is, when you just let it all sit, adjectives that sinks to the bottom and the water looks clean again but it's really not.
whether you feed them pellets thats probably it
or they pooped ALOT
or its shedding
filter clogged, need to rinse or clean filter pad..an extra filter is always good.
I did that when I have my 2 gals in a 60 gallon. Always had 2 filters. Cause they arte pigs.
Even surrounded by my 3 fish tanks I hjave 2 Penguin double sided filters, about 30.00 respectively at walmart..keeps it cleaner
Or maybe they need a bigger container.
use a little barley in the water and it help keep it cleaner.

Shedding will not cloud the water..
Answers: I hold a red eared slider to and the same thing happens to me.Actually I enjoy two turtles but anyway it's probably the food I feed my turtles pellets and like thing happens.See the thing is when you nurture turtles they tend to spit some of their food out.And when their food just sits there underwater the food gets soggy and breaks up and fogs up their cistern.
One of them could be ready to shed.
IMO, reptiles were never intended as companions or pets for human beings. You cannot possibly group it's environmental, nutritional, emotional, physical, medical, or sexual needs. Eventually this will lead to the passing of the animals. Please don't be cruel. Admire them in their natural habitat. Thank you.
