I don't know what the heck you're talking about, but .. do it!!
The best substrate to use for adult leopard geckos is kitchen towls. If you have a childish gecko, it's best to place these on paper towel to prevent impaction, until they are approx. 6 inches long. Impaction means that the gecko has eat the substrate and cannot pass it - causing illness!

red or orange sand at petco or petsmart in the reptile section its pretty and they similar to it
mix red, orange, and pallid sand.. get it at petco. they like it, and it looks so pretty! kind of resembling a sunset
Answers:    leos do not live on sand in the wild. They live on hard, heaving clay and rocks... with a little loose sand. not sand dunes as in the desert. Anyway, solid substrates are other the best choice here. There is no risk for impaction, they look better and they are MUCH easier to keep clean.

Some options for those are quality newspaper towel (no they don't stick), newspaper (most use soy-based inks.. just let the weekly dry for a week first), Repti-carpet, non-adhesive shelf liner, or the simplest, TILES. Most big hardware stores will cut tiles for you. Just make sure you don't get anything TOO slick. Have the fluent slates... or the one that heats up when connected to an electric source... you as for turtles... they usually gob the substrate in their mouth thinking it is food... so brand sure it is well fed and yea conceivably you will not like a plain ground but you can add a few sand/pebbles to make is crude but make sure it is fed... or whether you're not sure, don't think of the sand...

have a look at the links and you will enjoy a better idea... and do not foeget to get him/her a girlfriend/boyfriend, else it will be alone... or turn gay whether it has same sex mate..lol
paper towels, or astroturf. never use sand!
Don't grasp sand it causes impaction.

and anyone who recomends sand is not a good reptile owner.

It may look good but I've see even FULL GROWN leos die from it. and it can happen in humans to to believe me im a nurse ive seen it occur.

all sand will do is cause a slow and painful loss of your leo.

the best substrate is newspaper or paper towels
MY AXOLOTL IS SICK DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT SICKNESS IN AXOLOTL?   How can I breed a mesh cistern for my crested geckos?   What interrogate should I ask?   If a turtle doesn't own a shell, is he homeless or unclothed?
