General Dwarf hamster information?
I got a dwarf hamster not too long ago (about 5 days or so ago).
I got him the Disney Bolt cage (no aim, it was just cheap and came beside most of the needed things).
I got him a hide away hut/home.
Some stick/logs to chew on.
I get him LM (?) Farms food.
Kaytee (?) fruit blend 'treats'.
LM (?) Farms wood chips/bedding.
I have been letting him run around in his bubble for about 30 or so minutes a day when possible.
Any additional information would be effective.
I've asked this question (kind of) already, but this includes more specific information.
Thanks!
what about a water bottle?
Everything sounds spot on minus a water bottle (which I'm certain you have).
In all the years I've kept hamsters (about 10) anytime I've kept them in wood chips as bedding they've tended to be more aggressive and will bite. The little green fluffy stuff other worked better, they liked to burrow in it and absorbed better imo. Just something I notice in my little rodent keeping :)
Answers: Do you have a wheel contained by its cage? they love them too. that way, when ur asleep, it can run all around and bring back its exercise.
also, remember no cedar wood chips.. cuz it can lead to asthma.
i would'nt recommend fluff for bedding..
but they use the wood chips for bedding as well, and it works fine.
I have a dwarf hamster too. If you want to hold him/her agree to it smell your hand first. Don't force it into your hand it might be scared. If you want to translate something in your hamster's cage don't touch it's bed. The hamster's food would be fine as long as it eats drink.
Got all of the general things he requests right now. Make sure the cage is immobilize when you put him away and you let him have plenty of excersise. (Which you enjoy been doing.)
Also, make sure to consent to him get plenty of rest. It's unhealthy and stressful for a hamster if they don't return with enough sleep.
Good luck with your hamster!
