:*( How long will my gerbil survive ? :*(?
My gerbil wont eat or drink :( i moved her to my spare cage ( it provides a better view afterwards her regular cage ) and i've marked the water height on the bottle, checked it is working, I've weighed the amount of food i put in the cage, i conversion it daily, and weigh the food i throw away, and the weight stays one and the same, i dont like seeing her like this and dont want to get her put to sleep because she might wish to eat, the vet said all they could do is put her to sleep for me, but how long will she survive if she wont chomp through or drink :*( ?
She Is able to go a few days without dampen but you might want to consider force feeding her a mixture of 30% food and 70% water through a syringe into her mouth, carefully not to choke here
try force feeding her with an eye dropper or a syringe with no syringe. if you cant get one then stop by any vet and they can afford you one. mush up some oatmeal and alot of water and try to get it down. then verbs to gerbil food, the kind you can soften with dampen then mash. do this atleast 2 times a day and I don`t know she will start to eat on her own. good luck either opening.
You need to force nurture her. We had to do this one time for my turtle. There are special type of things you can use to force feed them. Ask your mom about it she will probably know what to use to force nurture your gerbil, if not then look it up on the internet.
whether she's not drinking do what we had to do with both our rodents at one time and our cats.force. We used a syringe from our cats pain nouns from their spay/neuter surgery and with the cats we put water in in attendance and forced it in but with you I would blend up a tiny but of food and more water and put it within a siringe or spoon or anything able to do that and shove it in.
Answers: not very long as they need it to live, water particularly.
Try giving it a little bit of baby food, porridge or fruit/cucumber to keep the fluids up and cheer it to eat,
Just make sure the tot food/porridge has low salt and sugar, and does not contain onions, tomatoes, leeks, celery or anything citrus like ginger or lemon!
Apart from that just keep it comfortable, if it starts to wobble, squeak, collapse or beg to be excused to move, I'm afraid the kindest thing is to take it to the vet and let them do what they own to do.
I hope they are okay though.
i have a gerbil and mine is alike thing .i took it to the vet and it said like 2 weeks but your gerbil could be getting old and perchance i cant move around alot ...
First i just what to point a litter fact out, the Russia are send up gerbil into space because they can jump for a month with out water!

now to be exact out of the way you just start force feed her hose down and oat meal from a eye droper or something like that
try giving her some oatmeal in her coop, make sure see can get to the hose bottle, check it works.
other than that there not much you can do i am very sorry.
