Today we might run look at guinea pigs where on earth should we look and...?
so where would we go(petco, pet smart, don think theres any shelters around here)
Do u like the name Cloe and Zoey
would my 7 and 8 year old bro. and sis. be ok with 2 guinea pigs
i herd petsmart and petco tack bad watchfulness of there pets
Definitely NOT Petco or Petsmart. They transport horrible care of their animals. The guinea pigs they have there are crowded into tiny cage and are often diseased. My friend has two guinea pigs from PetSmart and both had mites and fleas.
Go to a local pet store. Google pet stores close your town and go to any non-chain stores. Small, family run pet stores are always better, cleaner, and in good health. Go to a few stores and compare guinea pigs.
If you can, go on www.petfinder.com and search for guinea pigs near you. There are thousands of totally friendly well socialized guinea pigs that need homes, and chances are nearby will be quite a few near you. This is always a much better choice than pet store guinea pigs. It's cheaper, too.
Chloe and Zoey are adorable name. Just make sure you get two males or two females. A mannish and a female will breed to matter what, and baby guinea pigs aren't fun.
Your younger siblings should be fine near guinea pigs, just make sure you supervise them and prepare them the proper way to hold and pet them.
Answers: You should actually avoid ANY and ALL pet stores!
The individual safe place to purchase animals are from reputable breeders. These people know a lot going on for guinea pigs, and breed very friendly, and healthy babies. They do not expect to make any money, and normally, do not breed that many piggies, only a few a year. These people love their pigs, and merely rehome them to good, deserving homes. They would never sell them to pet stores, where anyone stale the street can buy them!
All animals that you see in pet stores are bred by people who do not know or care nearly the quality, health, or friendliness of the babies. They literally just want to manufacture money. They usually breed unhealthy animals, and keep the parent guinea pigs contained by terrible conditions. Pet stores do not care, they just want any animal, no matter how unhealthy it is, and those breeders then win paid. By buying from pet stores, you are allowing those terrible breeding to make money, and verbs breeding more and more sickly pigs. Please do the right thing and avoid pet stores at all costs.

The other point, even before you start looking for reputable breeders, try to find rescue piggies first. These are just as wonderful as any other pigs, except you would be positive their lives from euthanasia, and lonely lives in cages.
You can use this site to find adoptable pigs near you:

I love the name you have picked out :) Maybe you should wait until you meet the piggies past giving them names. I like to name my pets base on their individual personality, so I choose their names long after I get them, only just so it is more special.
Also, please make sure you are positive of the guinea pigs' sex. Good breeders and shelters will have no problems relating you, but because pet store employees don't know how to sex them properly, it is very frequent that they mix up, and you may either draw from a male instead of a girl, or an already-pregnant girl! If you do get them from a pet store, learn to sex formerly hand, and do it yourself at the store.

As for your siblings, I think guinea pigs will be very suitable. They be paid nice pets fro younger kids. The only thing to remember is when they first arrive home, they will want space to themselves. I never touch new guinea pigs for the entire first week. If you do, you would stress them out. Make sure your siblings understand that, and also be certain to teach them about proper handling techniques. Also, produce sure that when you do start holding them, start slowly, only petting them for the first few times, and making sure it is calmness and comfortable in that room.
Be sure you have a full-size enough cage for them.

Have fun with them :)
